Title: Catching Chinese Unicorns: How the Launch of Beijing Stock Exchange Reinforces China’s Securities Law Reform to Promote SME Finance and Market Inclusion
Abstract
This article provides an in-depth analysis of the launch of the Beijing Stock Exchange (BSE), the newest reform in the Chinese securities markets, which aims to provide a financing platform for SMEs which are severely hit by the Covid-19 pandemic and the continuous trade war between China and the US. This article discusses the principle and latest developments of the BSE. It considers the operating mechanism of the BSE, including the new issuance and offering in the BSE. Furthermore, it examines difficulties and challenges the BSE has to overcome.
