The School of Juris Master held an online meeting to celebrate the Women’s Day

In early 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic had just started wreaking havoc, the faculty of the School of Juris Master of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) responded quickly to the call of superiors and took actions to contain the pandemic while ensuring proper individual protection at home. The female teachers of theschool, who were fighting on the frontline of teaching, research, and management, celebrated a special Women's Day.

On the morning of March 8, the labor union branch of the School of Juris Master organized an online event marking the Women's Day, which was intended for theschool's female teachers. Professor Yin Zhiqiang, Executive Vice Chairman ofCUPL's labor union, was invited to attend the meeting. Professor Xu Shenjian, Dean of theschool, and Professor Han Wensheng, Secretary of theschool’s party committee, sent congratulatory letters to the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Liang Min, Vice Dean of theschool.

Liang Min said that the female teachers of the School of Juris Master had both beauty and talent, making up a young, beautiful team that performed well in teaching, research, and management. She hoped that all female teachers could strike a balance between life and work. In her opinion, work should be happy, and life should be healthy.

Vice Dean Liu Zhihui is in charge of teaching and research. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, she had been engaged in a lot of coordination regarding time arrangements for teaching and degree theses as well as preparations for online teaching, salons, and research project applications, etc. She thanked all the teachers for their hard work during the vacation.

Ma Yuefeng thanked all the teachers for their hard work and efforts during the pandemic containment period. She believed that the School of Juris Master had a voice in all matters at the university, demonstrating the influence of theschool.

Wang Ping, a teacher who was in the United States, said that, although she was abroad, she felt that the teachers of theschoolwere more closely connected with each other than before and the strong cohesion of theschoolwas clearly visible from all sources of information. She also talked about the COVID-19 situation and containment measures in the United States.

Other full-time teachers shared their experiences and feelings in daily life. Tao Qian talked about her life, teaching, and research while staying at home. Shi Yacong, Zhang Jiahua, Zong Tingting, Ding Yaqi, Chen Xi, Zhang Xian, and some other teachers shared their experiences of participating in or preparing for online teaching.

Huang Xiaohui, Su Yu, Huang Xujing, Zhang Xinxin, Wu Yao, Cao Huiqun, Zeng Qian, and some other administrative staffers or counselors talked about their experiences of working from home.

Li Jianhong, Chairman of the labor union branch and Director of theSchoolOffice, made a summary. She said thatthework during the pandemicwasquite different from the normal routine. According to her, without the convenience of working together, we should give full play to the role of the labor union and extend full support to administrative work so that everyone could feel cared for. That is how we could enhance cohesion among the teachers and facilitate all work at theschool. At the same time, she thanked all the teachers for understanding and supporting theSchoolOffice.

The online meeting lasted nearly two hours, during which all female teachers spoke freely, wished each other well, cheered up each other, and shared some happy moments. The pandemic will eventually end. We look forward to spring, when all people of the School of Juris Master, full of harmony, warmth, and love, can see one another face to face again.
