On May 15, 2021, the 11th Juris Master Growth Forum of the School of Juris Master in China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) was held at the Lecture Hall of the Student Center of Changping Campus. The opening ceremony was attended by Wang Liyan, Deputy Party Secretary of CUPL, Zhao Wensheng, Deputy Procurator General of the People’s Procuratorate of Xicheng District, Beijing, Li Jingchuan, Senior Partner, Director of the Management Committee, and Head of the Intellectual Property Department of Tahota (Beijing) Law Firm, Liu Zhen, General Manager of the Legal Department of Xiaomi Group, Xu Shenjian, Dean of the School of Juris Master, Party Secretary Han Wensheng, as well as Liu Zhihui and Liang Min, Deputy Deans of School of Juris Master. The opening ceremony was presided over by Xu Shenjian, Dean of the School of Juris Master.

First of all, Mr. Xu Shenjian introduced the guests and leaders of the conference, and emphasized the importance of holding theJuris Master Growth Forum. He believes that the goal of training talents in law schools is to shape quasi-legal professionals with both ability and political integrity, so that students can be well prepared for their future career upon graduation. He reminded the students present at the scene that as students of theSchool of Juris Master, they should develop their legal thinking ability, legal professional ability, and have good legal ethics, so that they can prepare for their career and embrace the challenges of study and work in the future.

Ms. Wang Liyan stated in her speech that the School of Juris Master always aims at cultivating high-level and inter-disciplinary talents, and has made remarkable achievements in substantive construction. She，on behalf of the school，expressed her gratitude to all sectors of society who have cared about, supported and helped the construction and development of the School of Juris Master for a long time. With the message from General Secretary Xi Jinping during his visits at CUPL and Tsinghua University, she encouraged students atthe School of Juris Masterto firmly grasp the opportunity to become a useful person at school and build a foundation for their lives. In the post-epidemic era, the world's uncertainty is increasing. Every student should be strict with himself, always reflect on whether he has the ability to deal with career changes, and pay more attention to the establishment of career planning.

The opening ceremony ended successfully and the main forum kicked off in warm applause.

Themed on "Career Preparation of LawStudents in the Post-epidemic Era", the forum invited three guests, Zhao Wensheng,Deputy Procurator General of the People’s Procuratorate of Xicheng District, Beijing, Li Jingchuan, Senior Partner, Director of the Management Committee, and Head of the Intellectual Property Department of Tahota (Beijing) Law Firm, and Liu Zhen, General Manager of the Legal Department of Xiaomi Group,to give keynote speeches. Xu Shenjian presided over the forum.

Ms. Zhao Wensheng first clarified the concept of "post-epidemic era" to the students.She said that the so-called "post-epidemic era" refers to an era in which outcomes come and go and may break out on a small scale at any time that could have a profound impact on consumption habits, economy and cultural concepts. Next, Ms. Zhao Wensheng emphasized the career preparation of law students in the post-epidemic era from four aspects: the first is to consolidate the theoretical foundation and enrich the knowledge reserve, which is the foundation of legal work; the second is to attach great importance to practice and give full play to the advantages of the integration of law education inside and outside the school; the third is to uphold a pragmatic and rigorous style and a high sense of responsibility, which is the prerequisite for doing all the work well, and it is also a prerequisite for becoming a legal practitioner; and the fourth is to uphold justice and be an ambitious young man who adheres to the ideals of law.

Director Li Jingchuan made a profound analysis of the development status of the law industry nowadays. He mentioned that there are two trends in the development of law firms in today's era: First, the Matthew effect is significant, and the strong bullying the weak is further strengthened. The second is the change in the way of interaction. The benefits of new media publicity and technical means for lawyers to develop the market and conduct marketing are increasingly obvious. Mr. Li Jingchuan also analyzed the current employment status of Juris Master in the law industry. He believes that there is no substantive obstacle in the employment of Juris Master in the lawyer industry: students in science and engineering can dig down deep in intellectual property rights with high technical requirements in the fields of patents and business secrets, while students majoring in foreign language and accounting have unique advantages in foreign or non-litigation business.

General Manager Liu Zhen mentioned in the report that we are currently in a world of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. We must understand the current situation of the industry and be fully prepared to deal with future career changes. Then he analyzed the nature of the legal business, and believed that there is neither lowliness nor nobleness in careers, only the degree of complexity is different. Legal practitioners must prescribe the right medicine and attack precisely. Finally, Liu Zhen discussed the core competence of law. He believed that the core competence lies not in the accumulation of knowledge, but in the ability to learn quickly, communicate with people in different fields, solve problems, and empathize quickly.The rapid development of a country and enterprises requires everyone to play their strengths and work together.

Thepresentationof the guests opened up students' horizons and greatly stimulated their enthusiasm. In theQ&Asessionfollowingthe keynote reports, the guests talked freely with studentsin aharmoniousatmosphere. In response to the questionsfromthe students, such as "how to deal with the anxiety of entering the workplace" and "life and employment status of female prosecutors", all the guests gave detailed and comprehensive answers based on their rich experience.

So far,the 11th Juris Master Growth Forum of the School of Juris Master in CUPLhas come to a successful conclusion.
